Fuseboards

Is your Fuseboard SAFE?

Older fuseboards typically have rewireable fuses, which are less reliable and slower to respond to faults compared to modern circuit breakers.

Ultimately, upgrading your fuseboard provides peace of mind, knowing that your electrical system is safe, reliable, and compliant with current regulations, reducing the risk of electrical hazards and improving overall home safety.

    What is 3 x 4 ?

    1. Protection against Electrocution: Residual Current Devices (RCDs) are now a mandatory requirement in consumer units. RCDs detect electrical imbalances and quickly disconnect the power to prevent electric shocks.

    2. Fuse Protection: Older fuseboards typically have rewireable fuses, which are less reliable and slower to respond to faults compared to modern circuit breakers. Upgrading to a consumer unit with circuit breakers provides better protection against electrical faults and reduces the risk of fire

    3. Safety Compliance: Older fuseboards might not meet current safety standards. Upgrading to a modern consumer unit ensures compliance with the latest electrical regulations.

Key Benefits to replacing your Fuseboard

    1. Enhanced Safety: Modern consumer units come with circuit breakers and Residual Current Devices (RCDs) that provide better protection against electrical faults, reducing the risk of fire and electric shocks.

    2. Compliance with Regulations: Upgrading ensures compliance with the latest electrical regulations, such as the 18th Edition Wiring Regulations, making your electrical installation legally compliant.

    3. Improved Fault Detection: Newer consumer units often have built-in fault diagnosis indicators, making it easier for electricians to identify and rectify electrical issues quickly.

    4. Increased Capacity: Modern consumer units typically have more circuits and higher current ratings, allowing for additional electrical loads or future expansions.

    5. Insurance Requirements: Some insurance providers may require an up-to-date consumer unit to cover your property, potentially lowering insurance premiums and providing peace of mind.

    6. Home Resale Value: Upgrading enhances the resale value of your home, as prospective buyers often prefer properties with modern electrical systems that comply with safety regulations.

    7. Integration with Smart Technology: Newer consumer units may support integration with smart home technology, enabling remote monitoring and control of electrical circuits for improved energy efficiency and convenience.

    8. Peace of Mind: Ultimately, changing your fuseboard provides peace of mind, knowing that your electrical system is safe, reliable, and compliant with current regulations, thereby reducing the risk of electrical hazards and ensuring overall home safety.

Powered up electrical fitting all New LED lights for us, our old halogen lights were flickering & kept blowing out all the bulbs. It took less than a day to fit out all the lights in my kitchen, Paul was friendly & a really clean worker! Which i found unusual as most tradesman leave such a mess after the job. Will be using them again when my fuse board needs doing.
